Rockin with the Ages III

Rockin with the Ages II was a fantastic success and we will be posting some clips and information on it soon.

Now with Rockin with the Ages II behind us we are already starting to get Rockin with the Ages III on its way.

We will be scheduling auditions to be held on September 25 and 26, as well as October 2 and 3rd. Make sure to call Pink Lady at 818-606-6679 to schedule your audition time.

Ticket sales will start in December and you can click on the event dates to the right to find out times and location for this fantastic show featuring our seniors.

This time we will be presenting a complete musical that features not only dancing and singing, but this will include a complete storyline that will entertain audiences of all ages.

This will be our first musical event featuring a wide range of senior talent, so come out and have some fun.

We had to turn away over 250 people on our last production so make sure to call early and reserve/purchase your tickets NOW.

Holiday Reflections and Rockin with the Ages

Holidays always make me think about what my life is really all about. I guess, I can say, it is all about Rockin with the Ages. As you know, my one thought is that age is only a number started many years ago. The words of one of my cast members who said thank you so much for bringing me back into the world again and making me feel like I am somebody. I think that sums up why I am producing Rockin with the Ages.
Where did it all begin. Probably when I was in my last 60’s. I know that all of you out there will agree with me that we want the world to realize how vital, productive and energetic we are in our later years. In the next few months I would like to take you all into the world of Rockin with the Ages and share with you the stories of the people that will make the production, not only entertaining but also memorable.

Hi everyone. Wow rockin with the ages one was absolutely fantastic. We had 12 sell out days of fun entertainment for all ages.

We have a waiting list of over 200 names to get to see our next Senior Star Power Production “Rockin With the Ages II” that is scheduled for spring of 2010!!!!

We are looking for talented seniors over the age of 60. We need musicians, singers, dancers (especially that favorite “tap groups”) and also looking for Latin and ethnic groups of all kinds.

71-year-old Olympic champ, fights off attacker

Four-time gold medalist subdued and helped capture a teenage intruder at her home in Australia. It’s a pretty impressive story before you consider that the would-be victim won the first of those gold medals in 1956.

Dawn Fraser, who won eight Olympic medals for Australia from 1956 through 1964, was at home in Australia when a man grabbed her by the front gate. Bad idea.

“This guy came out of the gate and grabbed me and I grabbed him by the ear and I kicked him in the groin.

So he had to let me go. He threatened my life and I got really annoyed about that and just grabbed him by the ear and the hair.”

Grabbing an ear and kicking a groin? That sounds like a scene from a Three Stooges movie. It’s bad enough to be a burglar. It’s bad enough to be a bad burgler. But to be a bad burglar that gets caught after being kicked in the groin by a 71-year old? Ouch, on multiple levels.

Fraser’s attitude doesn’t seem to have changed from her swimming days. She was always considered cocky (especially when she broke the Australian record in the 100m freestyle and told reporters that she wasn’t impressed with her time) and once smacked a teammate with a pillow during an argument at a team meeting.

While Fraser said she was “annoyed” with the intruder, she couldn’t be too angry, since she has dabbled in some intruding herself. At the 1964 Tokyo Games, Fraser went on a middle-of-the-night raid to steal a flag from the entrance to the Emperor’s palace. She was caught and arrested, but was released soon after and given the flag anyway. By Chris Chase

A few months ago, I developed numbness in my toes. Prior to that I had fallen down the steps on New Years day and broken my wrist.
I am an avid exerciser and love to do Aerobics but was fearful of falling, so I started to do the elliptical machine.
I am also an avid researcher and looked up numbness in the feet online and found out that exercise machines like the treadmill and elliptical can cause that condition.
I then recovered and renewed my aerobic exercise. The numbness did not go away.
I decided to consult my doctor who sent me to a neurologist for a nerve test. He concluded that is was peripheral neuropathy, and diagnosed that I take Vitamin D.
The situation worsened, and I was then advised to take an ABI test scan to test the circulation. It turned out to be very severe, and I was then sent to do an arterial dobbler test which again reaffirmed that I had severe vascular disease, and very high cholesterol.
Since I exercise, eat sensibly, it was determined that it was not lifestyle, but rather genetics and hormones.
At heart and education I am a naturalist, having taken mega vitamins since 1969, and my past experience with statins has left me with flu-like symptoms.
Now, I had no choice but to try the newest one at a very low dose and to start to take a baby aspirin each day.
The first few days on the drug left me exhausted, listless, and feeling as if I had the flu, but a conversation with my Doctor Brother (who also cannot tolerate many medications) encouraged me to continue. He also advised me to take the pills before I go to bed, which I had not been told before.
So here I am in day 12, still feeling a little depressed, a condition I have rarely felt even in difficult times, and determined to overcome this condition.
I have simplified my diet and will elaborate it in my next Blog.

Knowing what a Senior Chic Person Is!

Hi everyone,

I am definitely a pink lady senior chic personality. I am absolutely enthusiastic about being a senior. It is the only way to go!! I am having the time of my life exploring different roads to enjoying the best time of my life which is now!!!

Being what I call a chic personality doesn’t just mean in the way one looks or dresses. It is also an attitude. It is an attitude to realizing that we pass this way but once, and it is most important to make the most of what we do.

At this time in my life I have taken on the role of an actress, motivational speaker, teacher, producer, and grandparent. The best role of all is being the matriarch of a family in my opinion. I hope all of you out there realize what a great time one can have as a senior because the only ones we really have to worry about is US!!!

As time goes on, I will let all of you in on all the fun things that I am doing as a Single, Sexy, Sizzling, Senior. From finding dates, dating and then that step to an actual relationship. Wow, talk about the best years of your life! Definitely it is now and Senior Chic is the attitude and resource to enrich and discover this new life that you are about to have.
